Founded in 1850, the Methodist Home for Nursing & Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing facility located in Riverdale, New York. We have a longstanding tradition of providing top-notch healthcare to our residents in our historic, hotel-like environment. We offer short-term rehabilitation after surgery, injury, or stroke and long-term care once living on your own is no longer an option. We are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization whose physicians, nurses, and administrative staff are fully dedicated to getting you or your loved ones back to optimum functioning and better health.
The seven Methodist women who founded The Methodist Church Home for the Aged in 1850 could not have predicted the extent to which their dream would be realized.Originally located at 16 Horatio Street in New York City’s current “West Village” neighborhood, the Home’s permanent residence was completed in 1929 across the river in the idyllic (then and now) Fieldston neighborhood of Riverdale, New York.
Ongoing improvement is one of the main precepts of the Home’s mission and philosophy. The physicians and nursing staff who provide care for our residents adapt continually to breakthroughs in healthcare technology while maintaining an unsurpassed level of compassionate, personalized care to our residents. In our historic building, ongoing renovations keep the Home vibrant and comfortable for all who stay with us.
