Methodist Home Named Among 2026 Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Nursing Homes

The Methodist Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation is proud to announce its recognition in the U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Nursing Homes list. This honor places our five-star rated facility in the Bronx among an elite group of skilled nursing providers nationwide known for their exceptional quality of care and patient outcomes.

Each year, U.S. News & World Report conducts one of the most comprehensive evaluations of skilled nursing facilities in the United States. Nearly 15,000 nursing homes were evaluated, with fewer than 19% earning a “Best Nursing Home” designation in categories for Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or both.

This year’s updated methodology includes 17 distinct quality measures in each category, assessing factors such as nurse staffing consistency, patient-centered outcomes, and post-acute rehabilitation performance. The rankings offer families and healthcare professionals clear, data-driven insights to support informed care decisions.

According to U.S. News, the highest-performing nursing homes nationwide share several key strengths. These trends highlight what sets top-rated facilities apart:

  • 20% more total staffing per resident per day than the national average
  • 80% more physical therapy per resident per day than average
  • 15% lower hospitalization rates for long-term residents
  • 33% fewer emergency room visits among short-term rehab patients

These benchmarks reflect the consistent focus on safety, clinical quality, and personalized rehabilitation that defines the Methodist Home’s approach to care.

A Continued Commitment to Excellence

Methodist Home Administrator and CEO, Maria Perez, expressed her gratitude for the recognition, noting that it represents the dedication of the entire Methodist Home team:

“We are truly honored to be recognized once again among the best nursing homes in the country,” said Perez. “Our team takes tremendous pride in providing exceptional, person-centered care that helps our residents heal, regain independence, and live with comfort and dignity. This recognition from U.S. News & World Report is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to quality, compassion, and excellence in everything we do.”

The Methodist Home’s comprehensive care model includes short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, long-term care, onsite dialysis through the Rogosin Institute, and coordinated therapy services such as physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy.

All patient care is delivered by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to ensuring safety, comfort, and successful outcomes. For added privacy and safety, all residents enjoy a private room with a private bathroom during their stay at the Methodist Home.
