Job Summary:

Provides resident evaluations and treatments to help residents with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) needed for their environment. Assists residents in improving basic motor skills, reasoning abilities, compensatory techniques for functional loss, adaptive equipment training and environmental adjustments to achieve optimum independence and improve a resident’s quality of life.  Provides assessment, care planning, education, and consultations for general occupational therapy services. Provides teaching and training to caregiver staff for carry0over of maintenance programs on the unit. Supervises other registered therapists, assistants, technicians, aides and student interns as required.
