How Donations Support a Non-Profit Organization

The success of a non-profit organization like the Methodist Home is directly related to our support system. We have proudly been helping New Yorkers since 1850, thanks to generous donations from our community that support our non-profit organization.

As a skilled nursing facility located in Riverdale, we help patients from the Bronx and the greater New York City area regain independence after illness, injury, or surgery while striving to make our skilled nursing facility a great place to live, work, and visit.

Grateful for Our Community

Here at the Methodist Home, we are grateful for our dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, talented health partners, beautiful residents and family members, and generous donors.

The generosity of our donors helps us celebrate holidays and other events throughout the year with our long term residents and short term rehab patients. Our goal is for everyone to have fun and memorable days with us during their stay in our home away from home.

Every donation we receive supports our mission to give our residents a great place live and our staff a great place to work. This includes costumes and decor, celebratory drinks and snacks, special outings, fun events with live entertainment, and more!

Here are just a few examples of how we have put our donations to use in the past year:

  • We purchased a speaker and a keyboard, both of which are often used in a variety of group activities and 1:1 interaction.
  • We added to our collection of fun costumes for holiday parties.
  • Residents enjoyed a variety of outings, including a theatre performance and holiday lights in Riverdale and the Bronx.

Other fun activities and events supported by donations throughout each year include birthday parties, tea parties, happy hour socials, holiday parties, outdoor BBQs, pet care, and more.

Supporting Our Mission

We had an exciting year at the Methodist Home in 2022, including the completion of our full-scale renovation and the opening of our Rogosin Institute hemodialysis center. We also look forward to another great year of providing skilled nursing care, in-house therapy, hemodialysis services, delicious food, activities, and live entertainment for our residents and staff.

The success of our non-profit organization wouldn’t be possible without generous donations from our supporters. If you feel called to join us in our mission, we appreciate your support of our short term rehab center.
